Buddy Roger's Music has been serving Greater Cincinnati musicians since 1957 when it's namesake, a local musician, started a single band instrument store to supplement his income. A few years later, the success of his first retail outlet gave Mr. Roger the opportunity to set up a second store in another part of town. In 1967, Mr. Roger merged his operations with those of a competitor - a good friend and musical partner named Jack Shallat - whose store was located in the western part of the city. The store was called Western Hills Music Mart. The partnership thrived and the business grew to six retail outlets plus a central office/warehouse operation.

In the mid 70's, David Miller and William Harvey, employees with the company, were elevated into the senior management of the business and established a long term plan for the continuation of the business when Mr. Roger and Mr. Shallat decided to retire. This resulted in the final sale of the business to Miller and Harvey in October 1988.

Buddy Roger's Music today is in the retail music business with four stores specializing in the sales of band instruments, electronic keyboards, music software, guitars, amplifiers, sound reinforcement equipment, stage lighting, a full range of percussion instruments and all related accessories. Additional services include private lessons, rentals, and a complete repair department with woodwind, brass, guitar, and electronic specialist.

Buddy Roger's Music markets through both in-store sales of products and services as well as outside sales with representatives in our Education Department and Audio Services Group, which includes Custom Sound and Lighting Installations and Professional Consultation.
